G-Harp Jawari Bass
A Fender electric bass fitted with a G-Harp Jawari Bass rail with twelve sympathetic strings and an electric Jawari Bridge. $2250
The G-Harp Jawari Bass rail is fitted with 12 string tensioning tuners, brackets to attach the rail to the headstock, and an attaching bracket which attaches the rail to the body at the horn using the existing strap pin screw. The rail tuners carry strings across the face of the host instrument and over the top of a micro-phonic sitar style Jawari bridge. The strings are anchored by installing and extra end pin next to the existing strap end pin. The rail tuners can be tuned chromatically or modally and resonate sympathetically when the corresponding interval is played on the main strings of the host instrument. The sympathetic harmonic cascade produces an acoustic full spectrum reverb which activates the micro-phonic Jawari bridge. The G-Harp Jawari Bass can be mounted so that it is fully removable without modifying the host instrument, or it can be bolted to the host instrument with a minimum of modifications. There are several tuning and stringing configurations: a regular fretted bass with the sympathetic strings tuned to the equal temperament intervals, or a fretless bass set up as an Indian slide Veena using the 22 Shrutis of the pure tuning octave which can be used to play classical Indian Music Ragas. It can be fitted with 2 sitar style rhythm strings called Chikaris. The G-Harp Jawari Bass sympathetic strings resonate when the corresponding intervals are played on the host instrument.
